People of Amgen: A.G.’s Psoriasis Journey
Psoriasis and anxiety have always gone hand-in-hand for A.G. Walter. He was diagnosed with the disease when he was 18. Like others, he suffered fromthe physical impacts of the disease.
But psoriasis is not just challenging from a physical standpoint —the disease takes a psychological toll as well. “Eighteen is a difficult age because you're very self-conscious about a lot of things,” A.G. says. “You don't need that added concern of a skin condition on top of it.”
Bringing perspective on Amgen’s company culture
What’s different for A.G. versus other psoriasis sufferers? He isn’t just a patient, he’s also an Amgen Canada employee. Watch A.G. talk about how his journey with psoriasis gives him a better appreciation of how the disease affects others—and how one of the most gratifying parts of working at Amgen is living up to the company’s core values, especially its mission to serve patients.
